    Why?

    Probably as long as it takes you to end up in the hospital.

    21lbs = 73,500 calories

    BMR = 1,500 (it's easier to calculate)

    If you eat 500 and burn 1,000 a day you'll have -500 calories for the day so 2,000 less than your BMR.

    73,500 / 2,000 = about 37 days.

    In reality it'll probably be longer because your metabolism will reduce as you lose weight and because you wont be eating much.

    Good luck

    When someone suggests a 2000kcal deficit, you don't wish them good luck. You wish that they see sense.

    a very long time

    the body with that low a deficit would

    lose muscle
    therefore reduce metabolism
    therefore make your body less inclined to burn fat
    you eat less to compensate
    repeat until stupid girls realise THIS IS NOW HOW TO DIET !! HOW MANY TIMES

    I propose that we have a sub forum called 'idiotic questions go here', and lump tosh such as this in there. Obviously, there would have to be an element of subjectivity but it would clear the fitness forum of lots of sheer stupidity.
