I need tips on how to answer the long exam questions. At the moment I'm doing a past paper question using the recent Haiti event as the case study, it's the only one we've looked at so far so it's the only one I'm going to use.

The question asks how the effects of earthquakes can be manage and controlled, and how successful the methods are. What's the best way to structure an answer? and how should I evaluate the methods?

Also, can I refer to case studies with smaller 2-6 mark questions or should I try to talk more generally.
