I was told on the Open Day the Uni offers a free bus into London and back again for nights out?
    Is this true?

Whoever told you that was lying. There's a free bus into Kingston Town Centre, but that doesn't operate on weekends. During weekdays it's regular, and I think in the evening, the bus stops running at 2300.

I see, cheers for clearing that up.

So, basically, going out in central London will cost a bomb with taxis?

not necessarily. We tend to get a bus to putney bridge (£1.20 with oyster card) and then get the tube into london.. Then coming back as long as wherever u are is near to trafalgar square there is a night bus (n87) that you can get that goes straight back to kingston town centre. It takes about an hour but for £1.20 can u really complain?!!

Nah just occasionally like for birthdays and stuff. Getting back to Kingston on night buses can be a *****. Plus there's plenty of things to do in Kingston. Plenty.

I live in North London, a bit closer to central London than Kingston is and its welll worth traveling in for. I've got a few friends at Kingston who say they don't go to soho etc that often cos its pricey but it'll only cost about £3.90 for all day bus pass on your oyster, less if its a studen oyster, and its only one or two buses from kingston to trafalgar square and thats only a 5 or 10 minute walk from soho which you wont even notice after pre drinking. i say kingston 2010 students break the mold and go into london as much as humanly possible!
