Your AS is made up of 2 units with a maximum of 200 UMS points, to get an A at AS you need 160/200 UMS points. Then your A2 is made up of your two AS units and two A2 units meaning that it's out of 400 UMS and your AS marks will go towards this.

So for instance if you get 190 UMS at AS level you'd have 190/200 UMS, then for A2 you'd automatically have 190/400 and whatever UMS you get for your A2 would be added on so if you get 150 UMS for A2 you'd have 340/400 in total.

(Maths and science A levels are out of 600 still as they all have an extra module for both AS and A2)

Corrected 160/200 for an A in most subjects at AS, 240/300 for an A in sciences maths.
