I am going to university to study for the 4th time due to health problems and then wrong course choice. Part of me wants to give up part of me doesn't.
    of
But anyway this is my 3rd UCAS app. the 4th year was a deferation.

I have two unconditionals which I got fairly quickly. But since then there's been a massive gap in hearing back. I sort of think they're mulling over their decision because I ticked the "do you suffer from a health problem" box.....and looking at the fact I've dropped out three times too, albeit being a forced decision on two occasions.

When is the latest a university can make an offer?

As I need to sort out finance, accomodation etc. Without offers I can't really fully decide if it's worth going back to university.

    Cheers.

Ive known people to not have heard anything by april (SOAS)
End of March is generally the rule though as by then students are having to pick their first and second choices...
Which universities are you waiting to hear form?!

Sheffield who supposed to be quick for English, Newcastle, and Birmingham.

Like I say I've got two offers but don't really want to go to either. Liverpool is a great uni, in the Russell Group, etc but I'm not that keen for a number of reasons.

And Lancaster, English with Creative Writing, fantastic course-not the location I am after.

I'm in a similar position bar the health problems so I'm not sure as to why they haven't got back to me
Same I got an unconditional from Liverpool, as much as I adore Liverpool, I'd rather not go as I already live here and a rejection from Exeter the other 3 are yet to even acknowledge me :/

mmm... because I know Newcastle and Birmingham are already giving out English offers....
Sheffield generally are quite quick.. still, if they are considering and accepting appilcants it will hardly be a long long wait I am sure!!!

    Good luck!!!

I'm in a similar situation. Lately I've been feeling like a bit of a failure because of it, though - particularly cos I'm still not 100% sure which direction I'm headed in post-uni. But I guess uni sort of helps that decision, and everything I want to do requires a degree, which is why I'm going through it again. I think the fact that once we're in, we're definitely in might be what's slowing some unis down -- it's a direct commitment rather than dependent on fulfilling requirements, which is why they have to take everything into consideration. Out of the unis you've listed - and mine too, actually - I don't think they're known to take much later than 31st March. Only certain unis/departments seem to wait until April/May; considering the recommended date is 31st March, though, we should know within the next 6 weeks. Let's hope it flies by!

Ahahaha, I guess being UCAS veterans makes us more "in-the-know" about these things. Hope it all goes well, anyway!
