    Hi

I have developed mumps and I've had a swollen jaw line for the past 2 days. Just wondering has anyone had it on here and how long does it take to clear. How long does the lump take to go down.

    Thanks

Usually a couple of weeks from the onset of symptoms.

Edit: I take it youve had this diagnosed by a college doctor? Its a disease that should be notified around college since it is highly contagious and can have unpleasant symptoms in adolescents - especially in males!

Urrrrrrgh I feel your pain, I caught mumps around Easter last year and it took around 10 days for the swelling to totally go. I felt like sh-it for 3 days (I fainted for the first time ever whilst I had mumps, haha) but after that it got better. You just have to sit it out, loads of paracetamol, lots of sleep. You should also have another dose of MMR when you're well as it seems you might have missed a dose like me.

not much point really in getting the booster once you've had the virus... Just hope you don't get the ball buster pain too bad!
