It's a myth that any types of food cause spots. It's the oil that gets trapped in your pores that cause spots.
death stops spots apparently. I don't know of anything else.

The "Clean and Clear" facial wipes are Amazing, they are the only thing that actually gets rid of spots in the market, even humorously expensive stuff like "VitAce" is 0 relative to "Clean and Clear"

Eugene.

Going on the pill helped get rid of mine, other than that tea tree keeps them at bay, when i feel them starting i just wip out the tree tea, they seem to settle down a few hours later, by the following morning they are pretty un-noticeable.

washing your face twice a day (even better, shower morning and night) is very effective i find.

oxy on the spot is fairly good as a quick fire disaster relief method

im sure theres already a big thread on this sort of thing...

milk causes spots, especially the semi skimmed one. I am dead serious. I have a clear skin.I have been taking protein supplements with milk and noticed that spots started to appear.
Reply 13
i drink semi skimmed milk, i dont get many anyway, so i dont think its anything to do with milk. its probabily your skin type which is why you get spots and hormones ofc.

Agreed on both accounts. Tea tree is fab!

I exfoliate which helps get rid of excess oil and dirt, but if I have a bit of a breakout, I use a peel off mask (tea tree ) and then put pure tea tree oil on it, leave that for a bit then put savlon over the top and leave over night. Works a treat!

i also find picking them/ trying to burst them makes them 10 times worse, i treat them and leave them, it makes it less likely to have reoccuring breakout, since the skin isnt damaged and reduces the dirt and stuff getting into the pores.

neutrogena products. I use a moisturiser, and and exfoliant. Then I use oxy before bed time

i don't think food causes spots, at least not for everyone. my friend always eat healthy, she is obsessed (has had eating disorders so she never eats junk food) anyway she has spots all the time and for someone in their 20s it isn't so common. i think that she takes antibiotics to get rid of them. my sister on the other hand who never eats healthy has never had any problem with spots.

Here are a few random statements of advice:
St Ives Apricot Scrub is wonderful.
Sunlight is great for drying up spots. Sunbeds are good also (but they're not healthy).
The pill can help spots or cause them. If you're female and suffer from spots, consider starting/changing pills.
If you pump your body with crap, you'll look crap.
Saunas/steam rooms are good but you have to make sure you get the dirt out of your pores, then wash with cold water to close them up.
Don't pick spots. Spots last a week, scars last forever. Plus it's gross.
Greasy skin? You can get blotting paper for skin from Superdrug.
Tea tree oil is quite good for spots.

BTW why are you called 'Melbourne'? I'm just curious,

k thx
