Asthma flaring up and other weird things watch

In about august I developed this really strong cough for about 2 weeks, used about 15 puffs of relief inhaler a day and had a really phlegmy chest and intense wheeze at the same time. I put it down to dust from the stables which I went to all summer, and the doctor said it was my asthma and put me on a preventer inhaler. (ive been riding and have had asthma since the year dot)

I took it twice a day and it died down again, but since then every now again it comes up again, like last week I'd wake up in the middle of the night with these severe wheezes/phlegm again. Has anyone else experienced this? Did it turn out to be something underlying? And yes, I'm going to the doctors this week before you start!

I've also had an inflated lymph node behind my jaw for a while, can't remember exactly how long, does this tie in to the cough?

Sounds similar to when I had pertussis, though I'm not a doctor.

errrrm don't know, when I had the cough it didn't make a whooping noise. Though the lymph node aches sometimes and gets bigger when I have alcohol.
