    Anyone tried this?

If you are at university and are 18+ you can take part.

It seems interesting, 400 quid for a month in the Maldives, I get to help people and I reckon it would look really good on my CV when applying for a job?

What do you reckon? Should I do it?

I know, the medical projects look like something I would really like to do, and also the chance of relax aswel :sogood:. I'm just thinking about the whole logistics and stuff (persuading parents, organizing it and things)

It doesn't look very trustable to be honest, some things seem too good to be true.

It doesn't look very trustable to be honest, some things seem too good to be true. The website offers no information on pricing or requirements.

    What you call that?

Also, this was advertised at my university (Dundee)...

    So I think it's legit...

I call that poor computer user interface. Very unprofessional, and if you trust these people with your money then you deserve to loose it.

maldives is quite beautiful, though, tbh, visiting's very different from working.
Tourists spend holidays separated from the commoners, but to work means you've got to live with the island community (very different from Resorts!)

Yeah "I went on a self-serving holiday" is a real winner on a CV.

During my stay, I help on various projects which aid the less well off. So it counts as volunteering.
Oh, forgive me. I didn't realise that these countries had a deficit in unskilled labour.

    Unless.. Are you an architect/plumber/electrician/builder?

Oh and sunbathing doesn't count as volunteering, btw.

Your inability to interpret things correctly, quite frankly, astounds me.

I wouldn't write "I went on a self-serving holiday" nor is it even that in actual fact.

During my stay, I help on various projects which aid the less well off. So it counts as volunteering.

Similar to medical students going to Ghana or wherever and helping out with their medical knowledge...

So **** off and stop trying to be funny, because it's really not happening for you.
    He's right though.

I reckon it would look really good on my CV when applying
If you're volunteering because of that, you're doing it for the wrong reasons.

What are you honestly trying to argue?

The website is called MISSION MALDIVES.

The sole purpose of the program is to help, to aid, to volunteer. It's not a ******* tourist resort which I will go to and just write that I helped while I was there.

They have projects for different types of people, you actual downsyndrome.

In the UK, why do people volunteer in charity shops and such? To help people, and don't tell me all of them do it out of the kindness of their heart, nearly everyone about to look for a job or applying to university will do some volunteer and work experience to brighten up their CV/PS.

I think going to the Maldives and helping build shelters or whatever projects there are, is considered better than volunteering in a charity shop.

So yes, it will look good on my CV, because the sole purpose of the program is not to provide a good holiday, I actually pay money to over there and help them, the money I pay is for accommodation etc.

And I wish to point out your second failed attempt at being funny, I don't think anyone laughed at it, simply because of the fact that is was completely irrelevant, especially since there was absolutely no mention of sunbathing, in the OP nor any other post by myself.

So stop trying to be rude and arrogant, isn't it enough nobody likes you in the real world?
I was on your side until you said what I highlighted. Grow up.
