    can any1 please help me with integration and differentiation i dont understand it at all :confused:

    Integration can be definate or indefinate. It is used to find the area under a graph. With definate integration the limits specify the area being found under the graph but you have to be careful about where the area being found lies. You may have to integrate in two parts and add them up.

    Differentiation is used to find the gradient of a graph at a certain point. It's the rate of change from one co-ordinate to another. Differentiating a function gives its gradient function. Putting in a value of one of the variables in this gradient function willl give you the gradient of the graph at that point as well.

    Things you need to know for c1 are basic. Just try to learn the rules for each.

    ----------Example----------------

    Function: Y=3x^2

    Differentiated function (dY/dx) = 6x

    Integrated function = x^3

    ---------------
    For differentiation, you multiply the power of x with the coefficient of x and then take '1' away from the power.

    For integration the process is reversed do you add '1' to the power of x and divide this new power by the coefficient of x

    Dunno if that'd help but yeah, try look in your textbook or something. Hopefull the example should start you off with the basics of each.

    c1 level integration and differentiation are not that hard. Actually, differentiation is quite simple. You only remember some basic differentiation formulae and rules. Integration is bit tricky. However, they all about practicing. Once you have done 50-100 questions practice, you will be fine.
