My suit has subtle grey stripes, the suit is black...

and this is the tie I want to wear with it...

Would it look bad or what do you think?

    Tie - http://www.thomaspink.com/fcp/produc...-Tie/99911774#

    Suit - http://www.yoox.com/item.asp?tskay=B...ne_uk&TP=15199

Not the actual suit but just to give you an idea of the subtleness of the stripes...

personally, wouldn't go vertical stripe tie with vertical stripe suit. If you need to go stripe, diagonal is most likely to work IMO.

Could you recommend me a nice tie? I want something extravagant but not too obnoxious, I like the colours red, pink, black, subtle green,

I just have been looking everywhere and just can't seem to find a nice looking tie.

Why not just wear a nice plain coloured tie in a complementary colour to the suit? A nice dark red tie, coupled with a white shirt would look nice.

I know that would look good but I just want that little something extra...

What's your opinion on these, with the suit mentioned in the OP and a white shirt.

I think I like the pink one more.

Not sure. :erm: You'll have to try it and see how it looks. It's a little unorthodox.

What's the occasion? You'll look like a sales clerk with those.

I think you should get a block colour (perhaps a pale pink) maybe with a subtle diagonal design.

Yeah definitely a block colour. http://www.tie-shop.co.uk/Wine-Pure-Woven-Silk-Tie.html something like that would be fine.

Or a black bow tie like a lot of the guys wear.

Plain is so much nicer (although of the ties you've selected the one in the OP is nicest)
    Something like
    http://www.thomaspink.com/fcp/product/thomas%20pink/Ties/Purple-Churchill-Plain-Woven-Men's-Tie/99908060
    or
    http://www.thomaspink.com/fcp/product/thomas%20pink/Ties/Green-Rose-Plain-Silk-Men's-Woven-Tie/99903646 (my personal favourite)
    or
    http://www.thomaspink.com/fcp/product/thomas%20pink/Ties/Deep-Red-Chaplin-7-Fold-Woven-Men's-Tie/99911303 (my least favourite).

Have you got a date, if so your tie should probably match/co-ordinate with her dress

Have you bought that suit already and tried it on? As the fit of Armani suits is a little strange due to the designer nature and don't 'fit' well on a lot of people.

My vote goes to the black bowtie, perhaps with a winglet shirt.
