I'm looking to self teach myself A-Level Maths on my gap year in preparation for my University course, Computer Science. Can you still buy books for the AQA legacy spec? I want to do the legacy because there are still a fair few past exam papers available and I want to test myself by setting one in September.

Not sure which book in particular you're going to want, but never had problems finding OCR legacy textbooks on amazon, especially as you can get things second hand on there, so hopefully AQA will be the same

edit: I was thinking of the old legacy spec. a la 2003 :p: if you want them for the current spec. it hasn't changed :yep:

There is no 'legacy' spec issue for A level maths as the spec has not changed.

I think you're right-this is what the AQA website says-
    Specifications for A-level Mathematics
The A-level Mathematics specifications changed in 2004 and for this reason did not change in September 2008. These specifications remain six module qualifications and are now unlikely to change until first teaching in 2012. From 2007 to 2010, AQA is piloting a four-module specification for A-level Mathematics. For further information on the pilot qualifications, see an overview of the projects within AQA to develop 14-19 Curriculum Pathways in Mathematics (Functional Skills, GCSE, A-level and FSMQs).

unless, the OP is on about teaching themselves the pre-2004 spec,in which case,I'd try Ebay or amazon when looking for a textbook,or,look on the specification on the AQA website, and teach yourself the things you need from the new textbook,as they probably haven't changed much

It hasn't? I was under the impression that the spec for every subject changed. Oh well, thanks
