That doesnt mean anything. Ipswich won it a couple of years ago. Where are those players now? Out of interest who were the stand out player?

Ummm in case you hadn't notice, Chelsea don't need a good academy. We just buy proven players instead. Most teams in England who regularly produce good players via the academy system are selling clubs. They have produced the same number of 'graduates' as Arsenal but the latter hardly gets stick on this note.

Ipswich won it in 2005, five years ago. Didn't watch it so I don't know how good any of their individuals were, but as a team they must have been excellent. Most seem to be playing in the lower leagues, which is where most of this years FA youth cup winners are likely to end up. In the FAYC it's the group of players who win it who've been together for a while - but that gets seperated a few years down the line.

There's no gurantees any young players from an FAYC winning side will "make it" at Chelsea, or any other side who wins it. It doesn't really show you have the best academy either - but it does show them as a team are achieving their goals and success which can only be a good sign.

If he continues to play like he did against Australia, there's going to be a lot of interest....

He was great, pulled the strings very very well.

Ozil in the Premier League... I'm not convinced. Where would he fit into our side anyway?

Closing in on Benayoun. Frustrating signing, but also see a load of positives about it.
