Is liverpool nightlife rough and nasty?

I have this preconceived image in my head of scumbag chavs starting fights and stabbing people. God, I hate those f*cking chavs. Parasites.

From what I gather, clubs in America tend to be safer atmospheres, virtually devoid of dirtbags starting fights.

Club life in the UK, not so much.

edit: the mild sarcasm of my title didnt real come across

Clubs in America (that I've been to) were nothing short of a disgrace.

If you go to the wrong places in Liverpool then the wrong sort of people will be there, which is exactly the same as any City. Also, if you go looking for a fight you will get battered. I've been going for 6 years and haven't had any trouble.

Te few times I've been out there its reminded me of Whitley bay, a strip on clubs which tend to be quite rough near newcastle.

It's a bit like Belfast of the 80's, I hope this helps.

It all depends on where you go! Same as anywhere else! If you go looking for a fight, you'll find one! Other than that, people are generally really friendly!

It is full of orange girls though...
I've heard you may die.

Not sure if that's completely accurate though.
What a peculiar comparison between Liverpool and the states (though Lennon did compare Liverpool to NYC)
The likelihood of finding trouble out in town is very slim, everyone is generally out to have a good time though admittedly if you search for it then, it will be there. I've never had any problems at all, and I don't fit into the most common sub-culture in Liverpool. As Hay Hay said depending on where you go, you will probably see a disproportionate amount of orange girls though.

What the heck are orange girls?

It is nothing like what you imagine. Obviously, there are fights and people can be idiots. But that is like everywhere and everything in life.

Girls who wear farrrrrr too much false tan and make-up!

With that kind of snobbery attitude you might get battered to be fair
Dont go to the Pleasure Rooms...
Avoid Office, Cube and Mood. We got told from the university to avoid Office to the high amounts of student related stabbings and fights. Cube was closed down earlier in the year due to a lot of rape cases and Mood's just plain **** to be honest.

It's pretty good overall provided you don't look like a target or go around squaring up to every meathead who knocks into you by accident. Manchester's a hell of a lot worse.
