who has the most hideous work uniform?

well, i'm really bored and i was having a conversation about horrible uniforms with a friend the other day so i thought i'd ask you all... do you have to wear a uniform? and if so, is it horrible? i don't have to wear a uniform in my current job, but at my last job, my uniform was unisex, and included bogey green corduroy trousers, a white t-shirt with the hotel name printed on the sleeve, and then a choice of either a violet or lime green woolen v-necked tank-top to wear over it. it was actually designed to match the decor.

anyone got anything worse?

I wear a navy blue pinstripe suit type thing, with a skirt and blazer (with shoulder pads, eurgh). Then I get to wear a mint green blouse which is a really awful material I must say. Oh and I work for M&S.

Morrisons is pretty shocking (no offence to anyone that works there )

Mine isn't too bad. Black and white suit. I guess I am lucky in that my uniform is not too hideous!

Nah it's not hehe. But it's a job I suppose. I've heard the uniform is changing soon anyway.

this is a good point. i'm still curious about the nasty uniforms though. apparently fish and chip shop smocks are pretty bad, and i have a friend who works at tesco's, whose uniform trousers are probably large enough to make a decent sized parachute from. she's not big or fat, the trousers are just all baggy and balloon-y.
I have an XL t shirt that the top 25 stores in the country get given. For some reason they didn't send anything smaller, and I'm a Small :frown:

Still, it's not compulsory, I just wear it and tie it up and the back occassionally.
McDonald's uniforms are uncomfortable and look like the worst things ever. I think they are purposefully uncomfortable - McDonalds Corp. have ever right to make it as uncomfortable and impossible to sit down in the clothing because they expect you to WORK DAMN HARD ALL THE TIME for your measly minimum wage . I hate McDonalds (have just come back from a 12 hr shift... and in Germany there ain't no minimum wage. They pay you Euro 6,13: the equivalent is about 3 pounds in the UK). Grrr.

This is what I have to wear for work. It was quite annoying at first, but I soon got used to it.

why do they do that? for the harry potter launch we were all sent "RESERVE YOUR HARRY POTTER BOOK HERE" t-shirts which we were supposed to wear and they were, literally, about the size of a tent! someone i work with took them home and made them into a delightful range of skirts and tabards, with matching hats. when will head offices learn that not all employees are the size of small houses?
WAITROSE UNIFORM IS EVIL!

The 70s curtain for a top! The baggy arse trousers! *Dies*

I have to wear a pale green/white striped shirt, with a dark green apron thing over it. It's disgusting. I used to have to wear a white hat thing as well but they stopped that (thank god!). I work at Wyevale garden centre in the coffee shop.
