Go and have a look round them if you haven't already. Have a look at the alternative prospectus.

Also, you should apply to Trinity :p:

I have looked round, but I can't choose and I just have no idea what they're really like - there were no students around when I was there.

I say this every time someone asks about choosing a college. Whichever college you go to you will think its the best college in the world ever after a couple of weeks.

Sorry, didn't read the rest of your message. Do you mean Trinity Hall?

Thats because I did a sneaky edit

No, I mean Trinity. There are quite a few people from TSR who are going there (including me) and they all seem really nice.

Reply 6

But Trinity's really hard to get in!!! And it's huge too, tho it's so nice.

Reply 7

they're... alll.. equally hard to get into, aren't they? Except maybe the special ones, the women's colleges/mature students. I vote trinity hall, though, trinity and corpus are both schools ard here and trinity's a lot better :P

The pooling system should ensure that if you are good enough for a place then you will get in whichever college you apply to.

hasnt tit hall got a v. good reputation for law though?

Trinity Hall! I'm applying there this year to do French and Russian. I went to Cambridge yesterday to look round, and thought Trinity Hall was the one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. It just felt like it would be the most amazing place to live. I've never had such a strong impression about anywhere before ... now I just have to worry about getting in :frown:

I did look round Corpus - my mum was very enthusiastic about it, especially the chapel. But it's not on the river, and (please correct me if I'm wrong), I don't think it has a garden which you could lounge around in - just the two courts. I don't know why this should strike me as so important, but there you go.

We do have a much higher proportion of law students than most other colleges (except possibly Downing). I don't know if this translates into better results though.

oh rite, because thats what I heard from my old R.E. teacher (gave up R.E., ).

Tit Hall was *the* law college once, something about priests and the black death?

Reply 14

I looked round Trinity Hall and it seemed pretty good - I think (feel free 2 challenge me) that its slightly more easy going than some of them. I understand what u say about relli not bein able 2 choose - Im havin the same issue!

Reply 15

Well, at least everyone seems to have convinced me it's good for law - i'm not too worried about the results people there get because I'll try my best wherever I go. Corpus doesn't have a law library though, when Trinity Hall does, and I that would be really helpful to have lots of law books avaliable near by (ie. i'm too lazy to walk to the law faculty lib). Can anyone else think of anything that is better in one college than the other?

Reply 16

I don't really know enough about Corpus to explain why we're better but um... they have yucky pink and white scarves whilst we have nice black and white ones.

Reply 17

And not all Corpus people are nice, but Tit Hall-ites are lovely.

tit hall is on the river. it has an awesome garden party on suicide sunday. and, from what i've been told, a nice event (small mayball) in may week.

it's nearer to the sidgewick site if you go via the "i don't want to get run over on silver street" route. (corpus is probably much quicker though, to the law faculty anyway)

tit hall is ever so slightly bigger i think?

tit hall have a better boat club than corpus- although corpus do have the pleasure of sharing a boathouse with sidney  :p:

Cool, thanks. At least it's nearer the Law Faculty than some! Don't like the idea of suicide sunday lol!
