My asthma is really sensitive to cold weather, or humid weather and I get a sore throat and a tight chest. Im starting to grow out of it now, and I only use the inhaler 2/3 times a week

Maybe its the humidity then..I have a preventer so I take that twice a day, use my reliever probably once every other day..I think it's still getting under control at the moment! That's really good you hardly need to use yours now

Yeah im really happy im finally growing out of it. Swimming helped alot when I was younger. I've found that cities, on hot days, really don't like asthmatic lungs. But Switzerland, France, Italy and Sea Breezes love asthma and don't affect me at all

probably just a cold. although i sometimes find my throat feels a bit sore after i've used an inhaler. i don't really know enough about asthma to comment, though - mine is really mild, i only use the inhaler to alleviate discomfort (because i can't sleep when i can't breathe properly!), which is probably only once every couple of months. i doubt an inhaler would cause a really sore throat. you're probably just more susceptible to colds because you're asthmatic.

Ive had it for years since I was 3. But for a wile now it seems to have phased out almost. I only need an inhaler a few times a week. But on holiday in Tunisia I only had it twice in 2 weeks.

ive had it all my life. my asthma normally gets worse when i move around the country - ie dorset to wiltshire, dorset to cornwall, and changes is weather. ive been taking my inhaler more recently because ive just moved house, so different humidity levels. i normally find that my chest and side itch when i have an attack, anyone else get that?
I've had asthma for as long as I can remember, but it always gets worse in the Summer
My asthma is always worse in the winter.. I think mainly because asthma usually goes with hay fever but that's not one of my triggers so I've never had a problem with it. Cold winter mornings are the worst! My big trigger is going up hills, because of the change in altitude (my parents think it's because I'm unfit, but I can tell it's my asthma because my legs don't give out and as soon as I've used my inhaler I can keep going). Oh, and my parents in themselves are a trigger because they smoke around me no matter how many times I tell them not to. My Dad smokes in the study while I'm asleep and I regularly wake up coughing and have to use my inhaler several times in the night. Not good!

Heavy excersise never seems to help, eg. cross country and bleep tests at school. But luckily we have none of that now in collage.

I have asthma, its been getting really bad lately :frown: Can't walk down to the village without neeidng my inhaler :frown: but then again I walk really fast and should probably slpw down

If you're worried about your throat, it's probably best to mention it next time you go to the doctor/asthma clinic. Or of course if it gets worse, go and see a doctor anyway.

Thanks guys and girls  I think it is just a bit of a cold, I guess my immune system is weaker now..not that it's ever been very strong!

I hate it so much when people smoke around me, it makes me feel really ick now especially since I've been on my inhalers I almost seem more sensitive to it because my airways are more open. I usually just say "can you not smoke, I'm asthmatic" but it's really hard in restaurants and stuff when you have no control over others.
I have quite bad asthma, and mine always gets worse in the summer or when I'm in the country for some reason. It's not so bad in the city, but if I go anywhere in the summer I end up getting tight chested and wheezy. Asthma sucks.
