I am a nerd. I can't spell without spell checkers. But who cares. If you understood me, then that's fine right?

My college gives you a free mini-fridge

wot college r u at??

You aren't at Downing. Apparently a fridge caused a fire in someone's room at Emma last year? Anyway, that's the excuse college are making!

I don't think it was a fridge that was the soruce of the fire (Emma provides mini-fridges in almost all rooms...which is awesome!). Apparently it was a fusebox or something under the sink that caught fire and started that whole staircase a-blazing. I think that's what I heard and seemed to be the most believable.
I know (friend of a friend) the girl whose room burnt down. it completely screwed her up obviously. she was a 3rd year muscian, and she lost her dissertation.(had it backed up but it was in her room too...) she had to retake the year. poor girl. plus her boyfriend had died the year before... :frown:

A very good reason why you should backup your files on pwf. The university saves a backup of your pwf directories everyday. So there. Save your files on pwf, you'll have more backups than you'll ever need.
agreed. i do that with some of my files, but image files are soooo big its not feasible to email them.

You don't email. You dump them into your pwf space straight away. Oh well, guess there is no point explaining. You dump them.
oy, :p:i know how to dump files in my pwf. but 250Mb isn't exactly huge, when you have photoshop files to store is it?

Well yeah. except they aren't your conventional pc games. Emulators. Without the emulator, the it guys can't make sense of those. Well... most of them probably geeky enough to know what they are just looking at the name.

Patch: pwf = public workstation facility.
oh rite  I used to owe a large collection of N64 and arcade games.....

I have about 60 arcade games for my emulators. Only a tiny portion of what Mame supports these days. I'm not a keen gamer though. I don't even have a graphics card that run Lego Starwars.
lol, I need to run San Andreas...................... but my laptop sucks.
I'll come up to ur place to play
