But what if you're a Christian and you believe in the birth of Jesus and give one another presents to celebrate his birth (even if he wasn't born on that day)?

find the point of intersection of line: y = 3x + 6 and line y = 2x + 8.

eliminate y as both equations are equal to y, therefore:
3x + 6 = 2x + 8
x = 2

sub. x = 2 back into y = 3x + 6 to find y:
y = (3 * 2) + 6 = 12

therefore the point of interesection of the line y = 3x + 6 and the line y = 2x + 8 is: (2, 12)
