Skin Reaction/Bites/Lumps

hey guys, hoping someone will be able to help me. Over the last day or so I've come up in a few little red lumps (not huge, but good few mms in dia) on my legs, arms, hands and one of my stomach...they're not particularly sore but are itchy and have started to bleed when I've scratched them too much (they're soooo itchy). Any ideas what they might be? I'm guessing as they're pretty randomly distributed (8 on my legs, 2 on my arms and one each on my hand and stomach) that it's not so much a reaction/rash but rather bites. The only thing I'm thinking they could be are flea bites - we recently got a new puppy who we haven't yet treated with flea prevention and there was a hedgehog in the garden the other day (they carry fleas). I couldn't see any on her (I use to work at the vets, so know how to check for them etc) but we'll obviously get some treatment for her tomorrow etc (my other dogs already treated). But incase they're not flea bites, does anyone else have any other ideas?

Don't scratch!

Take antihistamine tablets (clarityn etc), and use some antihistamine ceam/calomine lotion to sooth them.

Thanks, I know I shouldn't scratch, but when the first couple appeared I didn't realise what they were until after I'd scratched them. We don't have any antihistamine tablets in the house, but will get some tomorrow...in the meantime am putting some skin cream on them (designed for eczema...but it's better than nothing!)

It could be chicken pox, but if it was then you'd probably be in bed too.

Defo sound like flea bites too me. i've got 2 cats to i know what i'm talking about. If they are flea bites, its actually ok to scratch them til they bleed, cos it lets the toxins out and then they don't itch!

Yeah, I don't think it is. I've had chicken pox before and they didn't look like this! lol

Thanks. I spoke to a friend with cats who's had flea bites before and she says they're much bigger though usually, not justg a couple of mms in diameter. Also, I read on various websites, that it's actually bad to scratch them as then they can get infected.

The sores/bites are only a few mms in diameter and I only have one on my hand...the rest are randomly distributed.

Go to your doctor if they haven't cleared up in a few days or if they're driving you crazy. But I'd say don't scratch until you not what they are and whether it's OK to scratch them!
