btw I've heard of one person getting an offer so far, on this thread:

http://www.gradunion.cam.ac.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11920&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&sid=d19b57de5f10c7b7763a1581b4a4f556

But it was way back in January, and I don't know how trustworthy the source is.

ermm... why don't you share your stat as well?

Here's mine:

Undergraduate School: Lancaster (UK)
GPA/Classification: Expected First
Work Experience/Internship: Two Big 4 internships
Date of application submission: Middle Dec
Other Grad School applied for and outcome: Conditional offer at Warwick, waitlisted at LSE

Sorry, my bad. I thought I did, there was some kind of technical issue I think.

Undergraduate School: A pioneer program between a top 10 Chinese University and some lesser known 3-tier American colleges :frown: Majoring in Banking and Finance
GPA/Classification: 3.95/4 (Expected), Dean's List
GMAT/GRE(if applicable): 740 (Q50 V40)
IELTs/TOEFL ((if applicable): 7.5
Work Experience/Internship: Worked PT as a TA at my unversity but no banking/finance internship/work experience, I'm starting to think this will severely hinder my chance of getting an offer
Date of application submission: 4th Jan (Status went straight from "Awaiting Documents" to "Paper with Degree Comittees" in less than a week)
Other Grad School applied for and outcome:
LSE - Accounting and Finance (waiting to hear back)
Cass - International Accounting and Finance (waiting to hear back)

I only applied for LSE and Cambridge initially but now I'm seriously worried about my chances of getting any offer, so I applied for Cass last week, I know it is very late in the game to apply now, but I will probably submit a few more applications this week. Can't afford the tuition fee at Imperial, so will probably apply to Warwick, Manchester and Edinburgh.

I read that too and one other person on this forum has reported an offer for the course as well a while back, but from the information I gathered from previous years' applicants I was led to believe that they don't give out offers before the application deadline, so I don't know what to think of it.

makaveli121,
Just being curious did you do GRE/GMAT and if you get an offer from all the universities that are still considering your application, which one will you go to?

I wouldn't worry about work experience, Cambridge don't really care about it. AFAIK, the most important is CGPA and your rank in class.

I'm waiting to hear for LSE A&F as well as I am currently waitlisted for my first choice. (Finance & Private Equity)

Reply 9

I have been ranked first in my year (I know because there is a scholarship for that) every year since I enrolled at my course but got rejected by LSE for my "1st" choice ( Accounting, Organizations, and Institutions) last week. This was meant to be my 2nd choice and A&F my 1st but the system recorded them the other way round, I submitted the online contact form twice to ask for a correction but nothing changed. This has to do with the fact that both my 1st and 2nd choice are in the same department so I was told.
Since that rejection, I realised how bold and risky I was to apply to 2 of the most competitive unis with no back up plan so I am going through a series of self doubt at the moment.

Did you submit your LSE application around the same time as your Cambridge one? There is seemingly a very long waiting list for finance & pe but hopefully we should hear about a&f soon. (I pray so..... )

Reply 10

I would probably take MIT if i got accepted. I'm almost certain i've been rejected from princeton as I haven't got an interview invite yet, and many others have alot earlier.

Reply 11

I applied for that programme as well and check Camsis every day several times  I hope we will here back from them soon.
Your profiles all look really great, I think it will be hard to get into that programme as they just have about 25 places.

Undergraduate Degree: Industrial Engineering in Germany
Classification: Best in my year (out of 100)
GMAT: 730 (49/41) 1st attempt
internship/work experience: 3 months internship for an insurance company. apart from that I work for the finance department at my uni and support the staff in research. I already worked as a tutor in engineering for 1st year students.
I got an award for the best intermediate exam at my faculty.
I spent one year at a top10 uni in the UK. One of my references is from a finance lecturer from that uni. The other reference by the finance professor from my home uni.
Application submitted in the beginning of january.
I haven't applied for any other programme yet. LSE is too expensive for me. If I get rejected I will probably apply for St Gallen or Mannheim (Germany).

Makaveli121,
A big congratulations to you on your MIT offer.
Meanwhile, I'm still anxiously waiting to hear from Cambridge and LSE.

I'm sorry to hear that. :frown:

Fellow Lancastrians though! I assume you are going for the Warwick programme?

I applied around the same date as you but I haven't heard anything back. Not too confident of my chances though as I do Accounting and Finance and didn't really took any econ or quant modules.

Your app is strong so maybe they reject you because you have already graduate and work for a year? In another thread a Manchester graduate with first class econ got rejected as well.

Maybe Cambridge like "fresh" graduates or something for their MPhil programme.

Anyone heard back from the JBS yet?
Offer, Waiting List, Rejection, anything.

Seemingly JBS has started sending out offers to the MPhil Management applicants so hopefully we should start hearing from them soon.

Please share your profile too and other offers if any.

Got MPhil Finance offer from JBS on 27th January 2010 and received formal letter regarding offer on 31st Jan 2010.

Undergraduate School: Lancaster, UK

IELTs/TOEFL ((if applicable): NA

I have applied only 2 universities.

LSE-MSc Finance and Private Equity - Conditional Offer

Reply 16

Congratulations Verticalforce! I read about your offer on the main Cambridge thread, "we" are going to have quite a few Lancastrians on the course by the looks of it.

Did you get an update on the camsis or an e-mail from Judge?
How will you choose between this and Finance & PE?

Thanks!

I'm still waitlisted by LSE so all this is hypothethical but if there is no deposit i am going to accept LSE as well as insurance. The reason being there is a chance I might not meet the Cam conditional offer. (first class in third year) I haven't had my exam yet so there's no telling what i'll get, especially since I've been rather laidback this year. I haven't received official letter yet so i don't really know what they mean by first (hopefully 70%), but if it's something crazy like > 80% i might as well forget about it.

This is of course assuming LSE is asking the normal first class overall condition.

PS. I think Cam likes Lancaster. I always heard of people getting into the course from Lancaster every year.
