Nope, no pains. And i do exercise regularly. Well, i've had 2 weeks off due to hospital and surgery but i noticed it before then :-\
how come you didn't ask while you were at tthe hospital? i'm sure it will just go away if you're healthy, but if you're worried then i would go see a doctor  good luck xXx

 Yes anemia can be the cause, also you may have asthma, Pneumothorax (likely), Pneumonia, Emphysema/Tuberculosis (not likely)

I think it's probably anxiety that's causing it, not necessarily full-blown panic attacks but the same idea. Espesh with the hospital stuff. Hope your ok.

it could be asthma. i was diagnosed with very mild asthma a few years ago, after i experienced the same symptoms as you - i'd just be sitting around or trying to sleep and i wouldn't be able to catch my breath properly. my parents kept complaining because i was taking really deep breaths to try and get comfortable and it sounded like i was constantly sighing. i think that kind of mild asthma can be cured over time, and helped by exercise, but that's not true in of all cases - i had been diagnosed as asthmatic as a baby, but my mum didn't want me to take medication for it because she thought it would go away on its own. unfortunately, it didn't.

No don't, at least not until you know what it is! Some types of asthma can be triggered by exercise (mine is) so you'd just make it worse if it is that. It wouldn't help if it were lack of iron either (though it might not be either of those). It does sound like asthma though; your description sounds like what i get when I have an attack - you might want to look into it so you can get an inhaler.

hang on a sec. did you get out of breath before you were in hospital? were you laid up in bed or something for an amount of time?
Have you coughed up any pinky phlem, found yourself coughing more in general, or had any pain in your side when you take a deep breath in?
