What's Christ Church college like?

Which would you prefer, out of these:

(a) Christ Church
(b) Exeter
(c) Pembroke
(d) Brasenose

for whatever reasons you like

christ church is supposed to be the oxford of oxford...
And it's just Christ Church. No College on the end.

Christ Church has a reputation for being the poshest college in Oxford, although I think that its independent to state school ratio is about average. It's one of the biggest colleges and has some magnificent buildings, including Oxford's cathedral.

Pembroke has a big reputation for being poor, so it would be expensive studying there.

Exeter

ChCh = prestigious but reputation of arrogance, and also many think it's too big, i.e. it's easy to drift into the wallpaper.
Pembroke = Broke = ridiculously expensive.
Brasenose = reputation of arrogance espesh with the 2nd yr blokes attempted 'Filth War'.
Whilst Exeter's top 10 academically, 2nd cheapest in the uni to St Johns to live, and fairly (but not very) involved in the uni scene.

Exeter? Involved in uni scene? Are you sure? I don't think they are politically at least....Turl St is notoriously apathetic. Out of those I'd say Brasenose is the coolest but that's just personal opinion.

Yeah I've a lot of mates at Brasenose, it's just in the last term their intercollege war has just got pathetic. Exeter's not involved in politics, but other stuff like sports and editing papers...

I would choose Brasenose. It has some very classic and beautiful buildings and the location is just perfect: right on Radcliff square.

Although Exeter is very beautiful and relatively cheap too, the college can only accommodate 50% of its undergraduates. Still it would be a fine choice if you are not too concerned with it.

Pembroke is very poor and therefore too expensive. I believe their accommodation is the second most expensive around. Their results in the Norrington Table are neither that great.

Christ Church was once one of my favourite colleges, mainly because it was the best known college (how dull). However, when I visited it last summer, it lacked the warm and cosy atmosphere that some other smaller colleges had. Furthermore, like Alexander (who is an Oxford local, so he should know) already said, chch students tend be arrogant and posh. However, since it so big, there are ppl from all sorts of backgrounds.

......the majority of whom tend to wear stripy blazers, Old Etonian ties and/or pashminas and say 'rah' a lot regardless of background lol!!!!

it'd go for exeter...def not Christ Church. not because of its "posh" reputation but because the place is more a tourist resort than a college! it has a shop/harry potter fame which means that it is flooded with tourists all the time. id much rather be at a quieter college and exter is central, cheap whereas Brasenose is bit too tiny for me and Pembroke is just Pembroke
