Well, it's actually some kind of a sea snail.

But also a (little used) term for a penis.

par example:

ouch - you hit my winkle or

my winkle is itching etc

If someone was to call their penis their winkle near me it would be hard not to laugh.
It just seems like a childish thing...like the innocent names parents tell their kids to use.

i call it a winkle.

obviously there's a time and a place:

'wee-willy winkly' and 'my winkle itches like hell' is ok.

'oooh, baby you make me want you to come here and f**k my big hard hairy winkle' is laughable.

lol, thats what my gran used to refer to peeing as when i was ~4. And of course "that gave me the winkles"

Winkle sounds much better than "penis". Why is it all the words used for it are unattractive?

schlong's the hebrew word surely.. lol nursie in blackadder does use it.. not a fan of the word myself it does seem a bit young children ish
