I think everyone hates themselves in pictures, you don't look how you think you look, imo there is no such thing as unphotogenic, the camera doesn't lie so you just face up to how you look like and live with it.

That's rubbish. Some people become extremely aware when they see a camera pointed towards them and can't act naturally. Therefore the camera can produce pictures which don't show the person as they usually look. That makes them unphotogenic!

There definitely is such a thing as unphotogenic. My grandma always pulls a really weird face whenever anyone has a camera, and my friend Tom is the same. You can't even get a good photo by catching them unawares, they always move at the wrong moment.

i dont look good no matter how i smile or position my head. I just look like a deer in headlights. I tend to hide when a camera is about, its alot less embarsing

*******s, they aren't faces that you save just for a camera, you are gunna pull similar faces througout life which make you look an ugly ****, deal with it....

is anyone here camera shy? I do not have so much as one good pic of me. In my 18 years in this world, I have not gotten one good picture. I am just so camera shy, I can’t smile. I just sort of go…blank, with a really dumb (forced looking) grin on my face. Is anyone else like this? Any tips on how to get over it?

i'm like that, but i have no idea how to get over it. generally, i just pull silly faces, because that way at least i can say that the resulting (and highly unattractive) picture was intentional.

one thing that helps is not to use a flash. honestly if i am on a picture with a flash i look terrible! without im ok

yeah.. use strong room lights/tube lights to get more natural shadows... cos the flash jus puts light all over the picture

I'm *quite" photogenic usually.I probably look better in photos than I do in real life...but I can't be a judge on that....I'd have to ask a friend.Lol.

Basically I just practise lots hahaha....with my phone camera and things...and I have a whole folder full of poses taken on my webcam on my computer!

I take tips from stars...the amount of holiday photos with me doing a Lindsay Lohan/Paris Hilton kind of pose is terrible...

Look at how famous people pose for photos on the red carpet...these are often the most flattering poses.If you don't feel comfortable with smiling,don't.You can always try a slight smile without showing any tooth if you MUST smile.I rarely smile in photos because I'm paranoid of looking weird.

well i always used to be and used to get really annoyed with the amount of crap and minging photos of myself there were, but then me and my friends all got digital cameras and we take them out everywhere we go, its kinda been like a diary of our lives over the last 3 years. So many photos are taken, there are bound to be a few good ones, and they can be the ones you get develloped and show to everyone else :biggrin:

Literally, every time we do something like go on a day out or whatever, i alone take about 60 photos, its just fun. AND AND, if you're camera shy, don't take posed photos, get people to take photos of you as yourself, just doing things without realising someones got a camera.. in a non dodge way of course, ha

well i wear glasses so practicallly evey picture taken has reflections off the lenses which ruins the picture for me. i dont like many pictures of me, so when theres a picture i like it i guard it with my life!!!!
