You need to do these on your own as they are very indicative of your personality theres no wrong answer as long as you steer away from the obvious.

For example if its a team job say you like working in a team, you enjoy time pressure etc.

put in team activities like sports and stuff that you do if you do any.
thank you viviki, but Ive given up on doing sttuff on my own, Ive lost count on how many jobs Ive applied too and never got it. So I prefer lieing my way to get a job. Anyway I dont have a stinking personality, I'm a nice person, so even if I lie on that multiple choice thing, Im not at all bothered, I just desperately want to get pass this stage and have an interview.
So to those who have a job at ASDA, if you can remember what you selected and put down, please please tell me.

When I applied at co op I was given one of those to fill in.
Got the job and then found out that no one ever looks at it and that it was just put in the bin.

So what do they do then, randomly select people?

I had an interveiw. I was willing to work weekend nights.
There was another part of the application with grades etc on which they did read. But they threw the multiple choice section away. It was enforced by head office or something.

Ok, according to the asda form, they tick boxes and then total them up at the end and the mulitple choice has 4 tick boxes, so they must want something. I dont know why I got rejected last time, I wish they told me why  The lady I got his application form from on customer services said that theyre only looking for people who are willing to work on evenings and weekends. So Ive put down that I can work from 5 to 10 pm every evening and all day weekends.

I did one for tesco and failed. Dont worry, most of its rubbish. They look at what hours you want to work and decide it from there.

Easy way of avoiding multiple choice Q's - Work for Morrisons

Obviously here you want to lie through your teeth  . Include things along the lines of 'learning new skills', 'providing a service for the community', 'working as a team' and 'having responsibility'.

2) Personality multiple choice questions (I did a similar one for M&S and got rejected :frown: )

I think they award points for these then choose at the end. I've bolded what they might want to hear but you'll almost certainly want to make some adjustments.

I can't really answer this as it is very specific to you. List any activities so that you can fill in the 'what is says about you' part.

4) Is it ok if I put my last employer and GP as my referees?

Should be fine.

Best of luck with your application. If you're succesful with the paper application then you'll get invited to a group selection then a single interview where you also have to try the job. The selection and interview aren't formal (I went in casual clothes) so don't worry yourself but do try to get involved in whatever patronising group activity they decide to give you.

On a slightly less related note; I'll be resigning from my position at ASDA soon

It's probably because the managers have an inferiority complex about you!

Well if you're better qualified than the manager sometimes they might not want to employ you

I'm always surprised and really quite worried about ASDA's recruitment programme. You'd think that with the application form, group selections and individual interviews that only the best would get in. That is totally not the case. There are so many people who are given jobs for which they are completely unsuitable. I think you have to be lucky and apply at the right time. You seem to have been quite unlucky.

If you want to really show off you could claim to know about the ASDA values. I think they are something like:

1) Strive for excellence
2) The customer first, always (I think)
3) I've forgotten this one they’re plastered all over the walls anyway

Just say that you enjoy working as a member of a team and your personality reflects the values by which you are required to work. You recognise that the customer always comes first and that you will strive to make their shopping experience a pleasurable one by making sure that the stock is available and that the customers have a clean and uncluttered environment in which to shop. You are also flexible and recognise that flexibility is a key virtue of an ASDA colleague.

By the way, never call ADSA colleagues 'staff' as, since Wall Mart took over, everyone's a colleague now. You have the colleague canteen, circle, entrance...

Good luck.

Oh and I know this has nothing to do with this thread really, but I stopped two shoplifters yesterday! We recovered over £60 worth of clothing and the two women were arrested; I also had to do a witness statement. The women had been in the country for 3 days and they didn't speak a work of English; they even had a baby with them. It was quite exciting really.

The ASDA "multiple" choice thing is by far the easiest I've seen. The tesco one (which I've failed twice, I think) is a lot more difficult, so consider yourself lucky!

It might be worth mentioning why you think ASDA is better than other local supermarkets in your area. "ASDA has always struck me as a company who remain true to their values in customer service, despite the company's rapid success and growth rate, while other organisations in the area seem to ignore their customers" or something =S

Nice one, how did you know they were thieves though? At our store we aren't allowed to check receipts and a large proportion of the time we have nobody watching the cameras
