Hey!
I'm doing KAMP this year, me and a friend have applied. I've only just had my interview and have paid the second deposit so am sending off reference forms, student status e.t.c but I don't think you've applied late.There's still plenty of time to get placed i'm thinking. I think most people who do the support staff role don't stay in cabins like the other counsellors. From what i've read and heard they're usually placed in separate accomodation. Also I think that you generally socialise with other support staff/some counsellors but not really the kids that much. But as I haven't done the programme yet i'm kind of just assuming what to expect from other people's experiences but it should be good!!

Yeah I should be reasonably confident that I'll get placed somewhere as I basically just ticked all the boxes for everything so as to be super flexible. But I did apply on the 28th of Feb which was the last day before having to pay extra admin fees for being officially 'late'!

Yvonnay, how long was it between you completing your application and then having the phone interview? And how did that go, was it formal or just a chat to check for weirdos?!!


i've only just seen this lol so I assume you might have had the interview now, how far along with your application are you?? I'm waiting to get placed at the moment :woo: which is the most exciting part but also the most nerve-wracking because I feel like i'm not really going until I get placed!!

I've just done KAMP this past summer and it was such an awesome experience. I also applied very late but I still got placed so dont lose hope. We stayed in a house by ourselves as KAMPers but we still got to socialise with other councellors. I also didnt know what travelling to do afterwards I dont think many people did tho to be fair, we just sort of decided when we got there and we ended up going to Las Vegas for a week then to Arizona for another week then finally New York and we were back. It all went by too fast. You should be very excited you have an awesome summer ahead of you and BUNAC were so great throughout. All the best!!!
