Hey LSF,
Have you ruled out the option of re applying? I know a lot of people on here will disagree with me, but I think if you want to go to Oxbridge as much as I think you do, then you should perhaps give it some thought. You've already heard the stories about people being rejected first time round then gaining the highest firsts!! If you don't get in the second time then maybe consider elsewhere.
No doubt people will say 'there are other good unis' etc. and Nottingham is exceptional for Law, but in my opinion, if you are about to spend 75K on an education, you might as well make sure you have tried more than once to get in to the place you want to be. That is a lot of money you know. Many of those advising against reapplying may not know how much money you are spending. Perhaps wait and see what the comments of the interviewers are, and if you think they are minor enough, then reapply.
One year is a fraction of your life. You may even be able to do something in your gap year that will strengthen your application. Maybe consider an Oxford college?
However, the downside to reapplying is that you will have to go through this whole nightmare again, and you may be rejected again!
