There are jobs out there for school leavers but most do require some sort of vocational skills. History A level on its own might not be enough; you don't mention if you've had any past work experience, voluntary work or special hobbies.

It might be worth getting some sort of office IT qualification, then could do office temping which might lead to something permanent. Accounting is also a fairly well paid school leavers destination but you're normally signing yourself up for several years of training with the company whilst working. Same for legal executive posts.

There are jobs available, they're just so hard to find. You could write to some offices asking if they have a position for a school leaver, & send them your CV.

You could also try looking at the jobs on your local connexions website, as all jobs on there will be for school leavers.

The natwest does a school leavers program, all you need is English and Maths GCSES, I went for the interview but didnt get the job... well i didnt really want it I just thought I would see how I got on as I still wanted to go to college. Check out natwest.com/joinretail Other banks will also have a school leavers program check their websites.

Some retail stores also have management programs for people with 1/2 alevels check them out.
You don't necessarily need an IT qualification to temp in an office, the agency will make you do a typing test when you register so if you're up to it they'll put you forward for office work.

Insurance is a pretty good thing to get into as a school leaver, as is banking like someone else mentioned
