Ahh but I'm sure all you pub goers were a bit older than me when you got your results, being English after all.

Is there NOONE else from Scotland with results?

I got AAAA!

Congrats.

*wonders if college daughter might be Scottish and already know her results*
I didn't make my grades, which is a bit sh*t, really.

I got ABB, when I needed AAA. I phoned them and they said they can't tell me until the english results are published next thursday, but I doubt they'd be able to give me a place, so I'm not holding out hope.

Yes I was out at the pub getting slaughtered yesterday. I now regret drinking quite so much.

To be honest I wasn't really sure what grades I was hoping for. On the one hand Oxford was quite cool because of the name-dropping, but that only lasts for 10 seconds and I was worried (esp after reading numerous threads about the immense workload) that I would spend all my time and effort trying to keep my head above water and not be able to enjoy the whole uni experience.

Sorry to hear that. From what I understand that's a bloody harsh AH offer. What's your insurance?

Bristol, BBC, so I've made that. I'm going to ask them if I can defer, maybe. I'm not sure, haven't made my mind up, yet.

Also, my UCAStrack hasn't updated yet.

Everyone keeps acting like I must be inconsolable, when to tell you the truth I'm not that bothered really at all. It's good though. People kept buying me drinks (who am I to refuse?) and my parents gave me loads of money to go out last night.

I got AAAA at AH as well. Everyone is being very lovely and giving me presents etc but they keep asking me questions and it is now quite clear I have no idea what happens next

What do you need to know?
Reply 29
Easy. You get sent a pack by Clare telling you when and where to turn up and where you'll be living. On the appointed day you travel to Cambridge, arrive and announce to the porters who you are. Then you're on your own, Lex being on the UCS will probably pounce on you fairly quickly and so you won't be completely friendless for long (no one is anyway really).

You might not get the information until after A-Level results though; I think they send it all out at the same time.
In my yay-you-got-in-letter from Clare it said that the next time I would hear from them would be at the beginning of September :frown:

I got a letter from Emma on Wednesday asking for photocopies of exam results and some other stuff. They said they would tell me more after the A-Levels came out.

Make sure that faculty tours don't clash with the medics' cadaver visiting this time! :p:

Yeah, and if you change the time of the talks (library, sex health, computing etc) don't just tell the freshers---you have to tell the people who are giving them as well

I don't think you poor freshers liked me turning up fifteen minutes late

Ah of course not, it will be entirely different this year. Picnics and everything! (I think).

Though I must say my freshers week seemed to be excellently organised. Especially knowing now the role of the UCS.

Haha, you weren't one of the 40 people rammed in the library (downstairs) computer room for 15 minutes then. Imagine that, I'm surprised no one died in there!

Josh et al were really good though, they did have a hard precedent to follow with the Boy King et al coming before. And I'm not just saying that because I know Josh lurks here occasionally either!

Lol I was one of those 40 people actually. I'd forgotten about that!
I just think that my mother is getting a little frustrated with me...

"Do you need anything?"
I don't know

"How much is your rent?"
I don't know

"When are you going?"
I don't know

(btw I know that I have to come into residence on 1st October but I have applied for an instrumental award so I'll have to go down (come up) earlier)
