Lucky it was not your thumb, otherwise it could be a long time(1 year).

Dont know as is not a common boxing injury, take as much time as possible if you dont it would break again and you will have to wait longer. Take up another sport to fill your time and stay fit.

Also it doesnt stop you shadow boxing

Dr. Blazed
Broke my index and middle fingers doing wrestling training this morning. How long do you chaps reckon it'll be before I can start boxing training proper again ? I'm going to have to resort to cardio only for a bit.

No time cos u can train without using ur fingers, fitness training, shadow boxing, perfection combos etc etc etc

the actual punching isnt really the key

It depends on how you can heal, it varies from person to person. What's your diet like and how long does broken bones heal with you?

Also, what boxing exercies do you do? You could probably use the speedball soon but not the boxing bag.
Your doctor should be able to give you the best estimated time, because as <3 said, it really depends on how severe your injury is.

did you have the neccessary protection for your training? do you use boxing gloves? it might be wise as well to use the boxing bandage thing (dunno what it's called) to wrap around your hand before boxing for extra protection. if you do kicks as well, use the shin guards. i always use them unless my coach tells me to take them off when he wants to correct my postures.

Depends how badly broken. A couple weeks minimum for them to heal. Or if you're crazy, you could wrap them up lots and use the punch bag. *Shrugs* Broken fingers don't mean you can't work out/lift weights anyway.
