Late or in some cases no Texts

Do you find it annoying when you text your gf/bf, gf in my case and they never text back? I find it so frustrating and annoying. Am i the only one who thinks this? I dont ask for alot of texts. 2 a day asking too much? Excuse from my gf is that she hates texting now :rolleyes:

Nah wont happen to me i hope! im just a really impatient person and my gf knows that if i ask for one she wont text me just to wind me up! girls, drive me mad!

I just hate it when anyone doesn't reply to my texts! mates or whoever, when people txt me i always reply staright away unless i got no cred of course! why wud you get a txt and decide to reply later or not at all, its soooo annoying! :mad:

actually having said that... ive replied late deliberately to keep the other person guessing... know it sounds mean.. but better to be mean rather than keen :cool:

i'd agree with you if it's only 2 a day. however, my ex used to text me about 6 times in a row, and get all worried if i didn't reply - even though half the time the lack of reply was only due to either a) complete lack of anything interesting to say or b) me not having turned my phone on. that kind of thing is just plain irritating and unreasonable, so if it was something like that then i'd say that a bf/gf is perfectly justified in not texting back.

Ugh, texting. Waste of money when you could be IMing. I think it would be easily forgivable not to text a significant other if you stay in contact daily through IM.

I never have my phone turned on anyway.

Texting is very unreliable. Often only half of my text makes it to the other phone.

Also, you never know if the other person has no credit/cannot text/whatever.

Don't let it bother you too much. Get upset when she doesn't return more reliable forms of communication.

I don't mind too much in general with texts - if they text back, they text back. If they don't, they don't. The majority of the cases with my friends is they haven't checked their phone/lost it somewhere/it was off. I sorta know the phone habits of the friends I text and I get used to the individual :smile:

Like a friend of mine usually checks her phone around 10-ish time or noon type time. So she usually texts back straight away around those times, but otherwise I may not hear from her for ages. Another friend I never text cus her phone is always off. A TSR friend he texts back whenever and tends to reply to a few and then stop, then text again after some weeks or months without contact. My ex texts/emails back now and again but only once or twice and never actually carries out a convo anymore. He hates texting anyway but while we were together he did text me all the time, although there would be times when he waited hours before he texted back.

So yeh, I expect different things from different people according to their habits :smile:

No, I'm with her. I hate texting too. Quite often someone will text me and I won't get round to replying until a week or two later. I know it sounds really bad, but I hate getting drawn into a text conversation about absolutely nothing. I only like texting people about plans to meet up etc.

Are you in a long distance relationship? If not, texting isn't really necessary. Relationships worked perfectly well, if not better, before we had mobile phones and everyone was assumed to be contactable all the time. Sometimes I don't want to be contactable.

Just don't text for pointless reasons, like my ex used to do. Nothing is more annoying when they demand replies for texts that you can't really reply to...
