I'm pretty sure that LSE is affiliated in some way with the University of London, but can LSE students use the UoL gym for free? What about for a small price? Is the UoL gym close to LSE?

Of course they are.

You can use all of the UoL's facilitites, incl. other UoL college's libraries etc

I think you have to pay for the gym. Check on the UofL Union website.

Do we have to pay to use the swimming pool?

Thanks Xanthe!

I checked out the UoL site and it looks like there is a fee to use the facilities.

All the info is at the bottom of this page:

Joining information is here:

It's unclear whether LSE students are classified as "Students" or "Associate"

According to the website:

Associate membership enables members to book the treatments such as acupuncture, Alexander technique, theraputic massage for women and beauty treatments.

If you want to enjoy these luxuries then presumbly you can become an Associate Member rather than an ordinary member (ie by 'ordinary' I mean the normal service available for UoL students).

Unless things have radically changed in the past year then you do have to pay to use the UoL gym (just as you have to pay to use the LSE gym). However, I'd seriously suggest choosing the LSE gym rather than the UoL gym since the latter is about 25 mins away instead of being on campuss. Also, the LSE gym is about half the price of the UoL gym.

People is here to study not to go to the gym, and my money is again paying for everything. I want my money back!!

Is the LSE gym good?

I work out 3 times a week so will be spending about 6 hours a week there...

There's also one nearby the School in Holborn called Gymbox.

As if men would actually be interested in these things in the first place (the beauty treatments etc)...

I need cheap! Is it? lol

I will only be working 1 day a week when I get to Uni so financially, my bank acount will boast much smaller numbers for the next 3 years! All my student loan will go towards accomodation...

Is anyone else in the same boat as me?

I've heard most people who attend the LSE are financially buoyant...

First they don't give us access to beauty treatments and then they wander why they're the fairer sex.
