Chilli powder in eye

Hi,

I got chilli powder in my eye (not by rubbing but instead, rather freak circumstances. Anyway, I washed my eye out but it is slightly red on the whites (not blood like blotches but rather, lines) from the left of the centre part of the eye (can't remember name/names). What was scary is that the inside of the eyelid was so red it looked like it was bleeding rather than pink as with the non-affected eye.

Anyway, is chilli powder able to cause permenant/non-repairable damage to the eye?

Thanks

Haha, wouldn't worry OP. You've ran it under a cold tap right? That should have flushed everything out for the most part, if not the eye will sort the rest out.

The eye is just irritated at the moment, tomorrow it should be like nothing ever happened. :p:

I don't think it will cause any permanent damage, might just hurt for like a day?
If you havn't already, you should wash your eye with warm water
No, you washed it straight away so you should be safe. You probably know this but whenever using chilli, it's a good idea to rub your hand in lemon juice straight after use so that you effectively get rid of any remnants of chilli on your hands.
