Is there a particular dress code? If so what are you allowed/not allowed to wear? I've never been before and planning to go next week.

If it's anything like Harvey Nicks then dont wear trainers or jeans....not sure bout Harrods personally though.

Scrap this one, didnt think it worked last time but obviously did

its all on the website

I do know of people who have been refused entry.. I think they're a bit more relaxed these days, but I would echo the above advice, just in case, especially if you're making a trip specifically for Harrods.

I've been in there loads of time wearing t-shirt, jeans and trainers. If they don't let you in, then just pretend to call your chauffeur and tell him to bring the Bentley to pick you up.....they'll let you in then. I hate damm pretentious dress codes.

I looked on the site but couldn't see anywhere that told me about it! Have you got a link? Thanks x
I think that dress-codes should be more flexible at these places. Most types of clothing can look stylish and expensive if worn in the right way and on the right person.

No eyebrows were lifted when I went in. Was just wearing normal jeans, jumper and trainers. It's not that strict really.

A school group of us went in all in jeans and t shirts etc and it was fine! PS there was a back door when we went so be prepared to walk round for a while to find it if you do get refused!!

I'm planning on going up there next week, but unsure if you're allowed to wear trainers/jeans etc. Can anyone clear this up for me?

Yse those are fine - they don't allow topless men etc in though
It prohibits: "...ripped jeans, high cut Bermuda or beach shorts, swim wear, athletic singlets, cycling shorts, flip flops or thong sandals, dirty or unkempt clothing." Furthermore "Any extremes of personal presentation are prohibited as are bare feet and exposed midriffs"

Theres the quote off that website link- although I've never had any problems going in and it was only by chance that we went in- we didn't dress formally or anything!

topless women are fine though
Apparently they once refused entry to a woman in torn jeans (which she had bought at Harrods a few weeks earlier  )

It's quite a nice place to walk through and browse at but I'd not recommend whipping out your wallet there because you can find whatever they have there for much less somewhere else in London. Knightsbridge is terribly expensive and Harrods is the worst of the lot. A mate of mine bumped into Al Fayed though - he somehow managed to slip between his bodyguards (it was totally unintentional!)

Are you planning on going there soon? I might have a little break from uni if you do and go have a little walk in Knightsbridge :P

I've gone shopping in Knightsbridge but to the poor man shops like Gap and Mexx. It's sickening to see how some people shop. They'll blast 1000 quid in 10 mins. I'll spend 10 mins getting a pair of jeans. In that time they'll have picked up 10 tops, a couple of shoes, a couple of trousers and dumped them next to the till.
