Formal events at University of Surrey?

Hello

I know that a lot of universities nowadays have formal events such as a Summer Ball etc.
Does the University of Surrey have anything like this throughout the year?

Yes but rarely. We have the colours ball at Epsom racecourse which is essentially for all the sports teams. Some departments/societies do them but I've struggled to remember any for the university as a whole. They don't have a big enough hall really.

Departmental societies sometimes put on a ball if enough people are interested (We had the maths ball a few weeks ago, as did law and music have their balls awhile back too). As a whole though, other than Colours ball (for sports clubs), there isn't a uni-wide formal

In my first year there was a Christmas ball I can't remember if there was one this year.

Also in Economics we have a bi-annual dinner

Most Societies, Departments, and sports clubs have formal dinners/ black-tie dinners. E.g. Economics, Law, Politics, Engineering, Rugby etc all have them.

The university-wide formal dinners include (but aren't limited to) the Colour Ball and Union Ball. There is also the possibility of running large formals using cathedrals venues.
