a lot of people would say "go out on the pull" or eat lots of ice cream.. just keep yourself busy and try not to dwell on it focus on your friends and hobbies.. and if that doesn't work i've found voodoo dolls to be effective..

Has anyone found a reasonably effective way of getting over someone quickly?

Finding a rebound. Or how about listing all of his/her faults and keeping them in mind?

if someone knew a quick one we'd all know it by now! its tough man but be brave! i went through a similar phase...but out of it now! Just dont think abt it...talking to someone close helps.

Don't bottle up your emotions and talk to someone.

Getting over someone takes time, but the initial pain fades.

I'm ok if i don't see them for a while, or don't have much contact etc, but its worse if their friends are yours, or you see them often :frown:

yep i have been the same situation like u said! and trust me its tough! but i got thro it! with the help of TSR and reading books! and going out and getting embroiled at work! for a couple of days i used to get back home like at 1 in the morning! and get back to work at around 9!!! so being a workaholic u kind of dont think of those stuff! but that depends on if ur working or not! else watch a series of movies!

if u rely only on time, it'll take its own sweet time to get u back to normal. go out n have fun. indulge in something! immerse urself in ur favourite activity.

I believe that called suppressing emotions.....which only leads to psycotic/nervous brake down...

chocolate, ice cream, assorted junk food and a soppy film. Its always worked for me
God, if anyone does know a quick one i'd love it. Me and my boyf are supposed too be breaking up a few days before i go on teaching practice. The break up itself is gonna destroy me anyway and just the thought of bursting into tears in front of a class is enough to scare me to death.
:frown: dont think there is a quick way,im sorry to say!
