well they are basically just little slips of paper A5 size with ya results on, did r.e last yr and then a tthe bottom will say 'this is not a gcse certificate' or something, cant member anymore as i threw the slip away day later lol not point in keeping it really.

it like got an explanation of the results and how the grades work on the back, like why they print A*(a*) and not just A*, its so people can't change them themselves if in both upper and lower case. and they'll be in alphabetical order on the sheet too.
I believe that the BBC has an interesting fledgling site which provides a sample image of Edexcel result pages. I am sure i found it from TSR though.

Do the results come in an envelope? Cos otherwise it's going to be hard not to look at them or not let anyone else see them....not that i'm planning on doing this, but some of my friends are neurotic....

Mine from last year's still proudly sitting there in my cabinet, it's even in front of my actual GCSE certificate! It's just an A5 piece of paper, has your name candidate number, etc, on, says your results like:

Full Course

ENGLISH Number of Results - 1 (One) A* (a*)

The letter in small writing is your coursework grade, I was told, but, dunno...

I just got handed mine by my headmistress...evil woman...with her smiling and telling me well done...they didn't come in envelopes so the teachers had a nebby at them before we did!

Soon as I saw mine I thought, 'They must be dumbing down then!' Hmm, hope there's been a fair bit of dumbing down this year!
You just get a sheet of paper from each exam board listing all your subjects in alphabetical order and you grades next to them. Depending on your exam boards, you may also get your marks for each paper/piece of coursework for some subjects. My school also printed us off a summary sheet with all our subjects and grades on it and put it at the front to make it easier to see what we'd got. They were in an envelope, but it wasn't sealed.

No, it's just your overall grade, but they print it once in upper case, then again in brackets in lower case.

Your teachers get to see them first anyway, whether they're in envelopes or not.
And if they aren't exam certificates, when do you get your actual certificates
cool
This is my AQA one from last year's early GCSEs:

The exam boards send them to school in October. My school has a presentation to receive them
