i am a bit concerned because i am thinking about doing business studies a-level but some people say it is "soft" does this mean that universitys are less likely to consider you ? i am also thinking about doing economics, maths and polotics so i think business goes well with these subjects. any advice, is business considered by universities less than other subjects eg. history.

yes especially as you are doing economics as well which overlap

it really depends on what course you're going to take in uni. For example i take both business studies economics alongside physics and maths.

I plan to drop physics (should i?) to concentrate on my 3 subjects. I plan to take business management/accounting and financial management (loughborough) I feel business studies would benefit me more but i'm still taking economics as i'm interested in it. I wasn't given the option in GCSE. tbh i did struggle with econ at the beginning but my friends told me it was revising through GCSE n now i feel more prepared for econ than ever. Unit 2 on monday :yep:

Don't do sociology or business studies, they're both very soft subjects.

Practically my A Levels :P Except I did theatre studies instead of maths.
I got in to Warwick, which i would say is on par with Imperial, but it would definitely depend on what you were hoping to study!

Business Studies is on Cambridge and LSE's list of "soft" A-levels which they do not regard as carrying as much weight as others.

Hi my name is Asha, after receiving my AS results a couple of days ago I have decided to retake the year. I originally took Biology , Chemistry, French and Maths. I am now thinking of Biology, Chemistry ad Business. I really want to study biochemistry at university. Do you think my new option is a good mix of a levels as i really dont think i can do maths and french again

It's all relative. I did both business and economics, and they are both useful in different ways, it all depends on your interests and chosen career area.

I took Business Studies, English Literature and History as A level subjects. A business A level is not ‘crap’, rather, it is enormously facilitating. I had discounted offers ( offers given by universities lower than the common entry requirement) for Loughborough University and Cardiff University in addition to receving offers from Kings Collage London and the University of Bath. I believe at least 2 academic and respected subjects such as English and History are complimented by business studies at A level. Also, a cracking Personal Statement can always tip things in your favour as well as hard work towards these given subjects throughout those 2 years at A levels.

How much maths is involved ? I’m currently doing my GCSEs and I’m stuck with business or economics and I have finished my gcse exam for business . I really hate maths but Idm if it’s basic , plus I like the idea of the essay writing. Thanks xo I’m so confused lol I would love an insight

Business a level is piss easy, it’s essentially short essay writing and getting four marks for drawing a graph correctly. There’s bugger all business in it, if you’re looking to study business at uni take the btec.

Guys I’m thinking taking either history or business...which one should I take... my other subs are economics and law and I need a preferred subject aswell. Is history very hard or business?Length doesn’t matter because law is also very lengthy so I don’t care about lengthy answers.
