I've heard of it, you need to apply for a TFL student card or something, and then when you buy a weekly ticket or whatever to put on your oyster, show your student card to the guy and he'll decrease the price.
OK.. so first get the TFL student card (the one that costs like 5 pound a year, yeah?). Then get a regular oyster card. Then put a student weekly pass on it... and it automatically becomes a student oyster card that gives you 40p bus fares? And it works forever?
Well, yeah, I think so. I mean oyster isn't just pay as you go. You can put travelcards on it anyway, and it automatically gives you a day travel card if you use it enough during that day.
and how do you get a student oyster card? How come I didnt find out about them for a whole year?
i only found out at the end of the year as well. You have to go to the student registry office first and fill some stuff out, then take it to a tube ticket office for them to issue you the card.
