Strange Rash

I've got this strange rash just below my neck. I think it's from a necklace my boyfriend got me (it's one of those leather ones with a little metal thing with a rune on). Well now I've got this quite large area which has gone red with loads of itchy spots; I've had it for a few days now and even though there's nothing on the skin, it is still itchy. How can I get rid of it?

stop wearing the necklace, see if it goes away.

I have a same problem with leather that has been improperly cured. If I toush it, my hands swell like balloons and become numb....It may just a version of this that you are experiencing.

Use aloe vera..it helps to soothe it and stop the redness.

well...the skin is a very funny thing on the body. Most probably its due to the leather ...most definetely. Remove the necklace...and if ur bf is upset abt it...explain it to him.

I haven't worn any necklace since I figured out it was that which was doing it. It's strange because I'm not allergic to anything.

He won't mind I don't wear it; we bought each other similar necklaces in a romantic couple-y way :smile:

but he never wears his because he doesn't wear jewellery.

It's possible if the necklace is silver plate or something that you've become allergic to nickel. This is a problem that I have. The main issue is that your body beecmes more sensitive to nickel as it is exposed to more and more (by skin contact). If it is nickel allergy then try and stop wearing anything that contains nickel.

contact dermititis. You need a steroidal ointment, or an anti-histamine containing ointment.
ani-histamine tablets will also help.

Try putting some savlon on it, or some aloe vera..that's very good for soothing things.

I expect it's the necklace but have you worn any tops recently which have been washing in different washing powder? Sometimes that can cause rashes.
