A registered nurse does not start on £11k - it is over £18k (according to agenda for change). Though not all trusts have implemented agenda for change yet - so the exact amount varies between trusts.

HCA's earn more like £11k

Well that’s just what information I got from a site that gives average wages for various jobs, and you say 'not all trusts have implemented agenda for change yet' as that site give averages of wages actually being earned at the minute the average may be closer to 11k than 18k than you think.

PS. and you are talking about starting salaries arnt you i.e. the first wage you get in your first nursing job.

Yep, thats the starting salary under AFC.

For anyone starting nursing now - by three years time all trusts should have implemented agenda for change - so therefore this is what they can expect to earn as newly qualified, registered nurses.
