I was on a previous course (Medicine) at a London University and was unsuccessful on examinations, largely due to my lack of motivation to the course. I have always been interested in the Financial side, and have subsequently decided to apply for Accounting & Finance for 2006 entry.

Due to this, I will be 2 years behind when (hopefully) I start the course. I will have a year to spare and wish to use the time constructively. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could do? I heard that I could try to do part 1 of the AAT examinations during the year as well as working in a related job. Would this help my application or would the University not see it as worth the effort?

Also, I wish to apply to the top Unis for the course (ie. LSE, Warwick and Bristol). Was anyone else in a similar position to me and do I have any chance of getting in to these Unis?

If anyone could give me advice I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
