When I went I didn't get asked for anything (including a medical card). They just took my name, dob, etc, and also the name of my school. I think giving them the name of your school/college is sufficient, as I guess they probably occasionly so spot checks or whatever, but anyway, yeah, I didn't need any ID or anything

you only have to prove it if your only over 19 and are in full time education and dont wish to pay. You would need a HC2 certificate when you reach 19 and am still in education.

I think the medical card is a nothern ireland thing only. Ive never had anything like that and we tend to get everything and anything on offer.

dont worry about it for all you knew we had them too, i just didnt want people to panic about not having something that we probabily aint entitled to. I could be wrong, if i am someone let me know.

If you've got an NUS card/school library card thing then take that as proof, but you probably won't need it. They can always call your school and check you're registered if they really need to.

I rang them and they told me to take a student card (that was after i told them i was in between school and college - opticians, go figure) so i told them i didnt have nothing and they said "just bring yourself then, see you tomorrow"

Anyway, I went and they decided to tell me that it has to be two years since your last eye test, and as my old opticians is closed on a saturday they couldnt check my records to see when my last test was, so they didnt test my eyes, I am not sat squinting at the screen hoping what i type make sense.

Providing you buy a pair of glasses from the optician you have your test at, they normally let you have the test free anyway.
