any other unconditionals heard?
I'm at work at the moment so will have to wait until I get home to find out...will let you know though! Oooh, excited now! Saying that, I bet I get stuck in somewhere like East Slope
Unconditionals.... pfft! I'm not worried about my grades, but still. ¬_¬
Even my backup offer at Southampton (EEE) is conditional, even though I have more than that with AS-levels alone! Oh well, the fact it was lowered at all was kinda swish.
I've probably said this before, but I'll say it again anyway.
Most people will have applied for Brighthelm or Lewes Court. I was given a place in Lewes Court, and offered a free week before arrival weekend because I hadn't been sent any info on the open day I moved in on the Tuesday before arrival weekend and was living with two other guys, both really quiet. I just couldn't handle it...Left the bags I had in my room and put a transfer in straight away. My stuff came down on arrival weekend and I got a place in the very last flat on East Slope, managed to work up the courage (and sobriety) to head over to LC and pick up some of my clothes and I was done. I couldn't have handled it there.
Don't get me wrong, if you come to Uni to work and you're not really bothered about the social side of things, then you'll probably appreciate the facilities in Lewes Court more. There is always the option of just hitting East Slope bar and listening out for someone talking about a party, but personally I loved being right in the thick of it.
The grass is another thing you'll really love in the summer, the option of climbing onto your roof (face it, everyone does it) and the fact that the bar is only a minute away from you.
Comparatively, and this is from a strictly aesthetical perspective, East Slope is a dump compared to Lewes Court. But there's no community spirit. After the first year, you'll probably be used to the people chanting 'EAST SLOPE FOR LIFFFFFFEEEEEEEE' on the nightbus!
If you want luxury and community, go Brighthelm, it's so much nicer than Lewes Court, you have proper neighbours and a washing machine AND it's right bang next to the Slope.
ANYWAY!
You're gonna love Sussex regardless, you'll make a load of mates, get well acquainted with the Hothouse and then of course you've got a year to explore Brighton until you're dumped in the centre
I've been allocated a studio flat in Lewes Court, but I don't really know what that means! What's the difference between a studio flat and a standard room? Are they in phase 1 or 2, or both?!

I think the studio flats are located in phase 1...I guess it's just a bit bigger than a normal room
Studio flats usually have kitchens as well as bathrooms...I met one person who lived in one, but he was probably the most esoteric person I'd met, so that didn't surprise me. They're meant to be pretty cool though...
Fate13, this might seem random, in which case you can ignore me...But were you in Mr White's English class? If so...How's it going

Oh, cool!! Sounds ace! It also means I'll have to make sure I get out a lot; a good excuse to live in East Slope bar.
And no, I wasn't in Mr White's English class... Sorry to disappoint!
I applied for LC like many... I'll just see how it feels, if I get it that is (which I may well not do!)
What I was wondering is, considering that LC says "broadband access", does that mean that no-where else has it?? I'm buying myself a laptop in the next week or 2, and I couldn't stand not being online. The idea of simply relying on the libraries sounds torturous. ¬_¬
