Question on Failing years and grants/bursaries.

Hi!

So, I'm just wondering what happens if you fail first year.

Can I just come back in the continuing academic session and carry the first year over again, and just repay tuition fees etc (although it's quite likely that I'd be allowed to retake the year if i do fail), or would I have to re apply like next year, my guesses are that i'd be allowed to just simply re do it without having to worry about re applying, but I'd like to check.

Also if you are retaking the first year are you still allowed to apply for a grant and bursary like you were at the beginning?

Same question again if i were to pass and go onto second year, would i be allowed to apply for grant and bursary again?

Thanks for any help!
I'll rep any exceedingly helpful answer

I'd have thought if you fail your first year you are required to leave the university. You do at Durham. So you'd be back to square one.

Financially, you're covered for that extra year.

However, different universities will have different policies on exactly how you re-take the year, and you'll need to speak to someone at your university for specific details.
