If nationality wasn't an issue, which it isn't for me anyway, I'd consider Guus Hiddink seriously.

I saw Rasiak play in a friendly for Derby against the mighty Burton Albion, and even though he was the tallest player on the pitch, he didn't win a single header. I just laughed when I first saw Tottenham had brought him.

I agree, Hiddink should be in pole position considering what he has achieved in the past.

If he can work wonders with teams like South Korea and Australia just think about what he could with the players England have got.

I love women who are crazy about football as long as she supports the same team as me and not that of any rivals.

What's the difference between a taxi driver and Nigel Martyn? A taxi driver will only let 4 in at a time!

What's the difference between a Everton fan and a trampoline?
You take off your shoes before you jump on a trampoline.

What's the difference between an Everton fan and a lemon?
One's yellow, bitter and best twisted, and the other's a citrus fruit!

An anxious woman goes to her doctor. "Doctor," she asks nervously, "can you get pregnant from anal intercourse?" "Certainly," replies the doctor, "Where do you think Everton fans come from?"

Everton fan goes the match and buys a golden goal ticket, when he opens it it says

    March 06

David Moyes went to the Everton Xmas party dressed as a pumpkin.... by midnight he still hadn't turned in to a coach.

Why does David Moyes shop at argos? It's the only way he can get Premier points.

What's the difference between a Bra and Everton?

A Bra has more cups and better support and you can only get two tits in a bra you get 30,000 at Everton

Moyes and Rafa are interviewed on telly and asked about their targets for the season.
Moyes replies that he'd like Everton to qualify for the Champions League again.
When it comes to Rafa, the Spaniard says he'd like to win the European Cup again, along with the Premiership, FA Cup, Carling Cup, sports personality of the year award, Grand National, boat race, and the next general election, along with securing knighthoods for himself and all the players.
"Bit far fetched isn't it?" says the interviewer, to which Rafa replies: "Well he started it."

what has Heather McCartney and Everton in europe got in common??

The second leg is just for show!

how many Evertonians does it take to change a lightbulb?
none, they'll just sit in the dark for twenty years blaming Liverpool

just before a pre season friendly between Everton and Real Madrid,
    >Ronaldo goes into the Madrid changing room to find all his teammates
    >looking a bit glum
    >
    >"What's up?" he asks
    >
    >"Well, we're having trouble getting motivated for this game We know
    >it's important for the fans but it's only Everton. They're rubbish and
    >we can't be bothered"
    >
    >Ronaldo looks at them and says "Well, I reckon I can beat these by
    >myself, you lads go down the pub."
    >
    >So Ronaldo goes out to play Everton by himself and the rest of the
    >Madrid team go off for a few jars
    >
    >After a few pints they wonder how the game is going, so they get the
    >landlord to put the teletext on A big cheer goes up as the screen reads
    >"Madrid 1 - Everton 0 (Ronaldo 10minutes)"
    >He is beating Everton all by himself!
    >
    >Anyway, a few more pints later and the game is forgotten until someone
    >remembers "It must be full time now, let's see how he got on". They put
    >the teletext on
    >
    >"Result is - "Real Madrid 1 (Ronaldo 10 minutes) - Everton 1 (Cahill
    >89 minutes)"
    >
    >They can't believe it, he has single handedly got a draw against
    >Everton!!
    >They rush back to the Stadium to congratulate him They find him in the
    >dressing room, still in his kit, sat with his head in his hands
    >
    >He refuses to look at them. "I've let you down, I've let you down."
    >
    >"Don't be daft, you got a draw against Everton all by yourself And they
    >only scored at the very, very end!"
    >
    >"No, No, I have, I've let you down... I got sent off after 12 minutes

A seven-year-old boy was at the centre of a Liverpool courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him.

The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the
boy cried out that they also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose
who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to Everton Football Club whom the boy firmly believes are incapable of beating anyone

I broke my tib and fib in September in training! It was my best friend in the team that did it. There was a nice loud crack...but no tears...so now I've got a hard man reputation.

In my experience in defending I'd say the most important thing on those mentioned above would be agility. You need enough balance to stop you from falling over so that you can actually play the bloody game but you don't need the balance of a gymnast etc. But don't listen to me because I'm a striker.

Ability to read a game is the single most important asset a defender needs to have. Everything else can be taught to some degree
