Endcliffe Vale Flats

Plenty of time to learn before you jump in at the deep end. A few tips.

If it looks dirty, put something over it.

If it smells, put something over it and blame someone else.

If it smells and it's growing, try to ignore it and maybe it will go away.

They aren't.
And I didn't know that until I had accepted.

I seriously don't know how I will survive living with 7-8 other girls. From my experience it's a recipe for disaster when there are no guys to calm the whole mood down.

Oh well, I assume I'll survive.

it's the same for lads too though, argh. i can't really see why they don't mix the flats because it means that you'll make a bigger mix of friends, and surely it's safer having lads in a flat with girls incase someone breaks in and such. ah well.

I hope I'm in a mixed flat. I get on with girls better for some things, and guys better for other things. But generally girls better than guys.

I was wondering about this too..put endcliffe down as my first choice but not heard anything yet. Are any of the flats mixed? because i hav a feeling they arent. i agree that this rule is silly, guys deffinatly do tend to calm down and rationalise a situation, especially girlie squabbling hehe.
Ah well, sure there are plenty of other opportunities to meet and get to know ppl. id like to think im quite an easy going person (im not scary girls honest!) so hopefully where ever i end up moving to i'll b happy :smile:

(will also have tin of celebrations at the ready on moving day for extra help luring allies :wink:

many people have proposed a TSR meet, which will almost certainly happen once we've all settled in, mid-oct maybe. But some of us will have to socialise beforehand. Actually, I bet we all see each other around but just don't recognise each other!!!

Most people seem to be finding out about their accommodation a couple days after sending off their reply slips. As far as I know that's only if you applied quite a while ago, though.

I just found out today that I'm in Flat 13 at Endcliffe Vale Flats. It's crazy to think there's only actually 136 places for the amount of people who apply...

I can't seem to remember if there's a communal area for everybody or not, because it's all good with the huge kitchen and all, but I'll go crazy living with just girls. Can anybody tell me if there's a room for boys AND girls to hang out?

I applied in May, and Sheffield was my firm choice; sent my AS12 off on Friday, and I haven't heard from accommodation yet...

That is the same as me, applied in like may/june time and sheff was firm choice, still nothing, and that internet log in doesnt work. Phoned them up , and they said expect it by the end of the week.

That was my First choice as well :biggrin:

Yay Im really happy now, I know where im living! Apparently im in Room 8, Flat 8! Easy enough to remember. They are split up into boys and girls, but its like this...

3 stories... each story being a flat. And that flat has 8 or 9 bedrooms for students, and that flat will be boys or girls but not mixed. I think boys go on bottom floor, and girls on floor above (for extra security to them 8-)) I cant wait now! :biggrin:

*so happy* Ill make a list of whos staying there and we'll have a big party when we get there...

APPARENTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can move in 10th September :O Didnt expect it to be that early! Oohhh what shall I do?!?!

if it's any consolation, i got in and now i don't want to be there! the only other person i know going to sheffield has been put in "the foooorrge" instead of the place they wanted to go so now they're miles away from me. i'm ringing services tomorrow morning sharpish to see if i can be moved. arse.

Let us know what they say, im thinking about ringing up as well...

They said to me too that I can move 10th September, I'll be moving 15th September, though. I'll be living in flat 10, don't know how far is that from flat 8? :confused:
