What Is Your Average Gcse Points Score? (average Grade In Points).

Using the system:

A* = 8
A = 7
B = 6
C = 5
D = 4
E = 3
F = 2
G = 1
U = 0

What is your average gcse points score/average gcse grade in points?

I will go first: 6A*'s and 4 A's.

Average Grade (Points) = (48 + 28) / 10 = 76 / 10 = 7.6

what about yours?

by the way, if you do not want to post your average grade (points) then dont - but dont moan about others doing so please. :smile:

(72 + 7) / 10 = 7.9 - top of my crappy comp school but prob below average for Eton...

They usually tend to have total points rather than the average one. The latter is fairer as with total points 12Bs is the same as 8A*s. Workwise perhaps it is...

yes. but the average grade is clearly more accurate.

oxbridge dont care about how many gcse's u take - as long as its 9 or more, then thats fine. its quality that counts.

and gcse grades quality u have!

As long as you've got decent grades in the core subjects and in your specialist subject, having slightly lower grades (eg. in a RE short course) would surely not disadvantage you as much. I think they take AS results into account far more than GCSEs though, as long as you meet their basic requirements.

agreed. that is true. :smile: in saying that though, having a perfect set is still better than a (nearly perfect but couldnt be bothered in R.E/Tech), as it stills shows commitment.......

although AS Grades r more important for them.

6.8 average, (78.5/11.5)

now, as a point of discussion edders, do u feel that doing 11.5 gcse's (approximately 2.5 gcse's greater than average) hindered the quality of your grades slightly due to the havier workload and revision content - e.g.) u stated about how your gcse's wernt "as good as perhaps they should have been"

how do you feel about this?

lol. It's A-Levels rather than GCSEs where points scores need to be looked at - you can get the same points score with 2 good grades, or 4 crap ones + Key Skills etc.

he said that the average points system was obviously the more accurate and relevant system as it shows the quality of grades.

therefore how is: "i got more points than u lol!" relevant?
