    Hi guys, the girlfriend is off to Canada next week for a year at Vancouver uni. I was just wondering is there much stereotypical canadian stuff i can buy her as a fun(ny) going away present..?

    Noone mentioned Tim Hortons!!! http://www.timhortons.com/ Shame on you. Yeah get her some Tim Hortons coffee or gifts and some hockey stuff.
    As canuck mentioned, I bought some Pacific smoked Salmon from Canada for my grandparents. God knows if they ate it.

    If you can store stuff for a bit, get some Canadian Bagels or Smoked Meat, especially from Montreal.

    Montreal bagels and smoked meat are famous!

    Roots clothing.

    All very very Canadian (not necessarily good though!)

    Christ, my British relatives almost looked as if they would die in heaven after they tasted good smoked salmon, especially coho.
